Abstract: Current situation on global market of leakage detection systems (LDS) is analyzed in the article. Main problems of operation of existing parametric LDS are discovered, the reasons of specified problems leading to degradation of leakage detection systems are defined. Furthermore, brief classification is given, and most frequent used leakage detection methods are stated. It is complex approach to improvement and introduction of parametric LDS implemented by Transneft R&D, LLC is proposed.

Keywords: leakage detection systems, parametric methods, leakage detection statistics, main oil pipelines.
