Regarding the prospects of development of combined pump-electric motor in order to transport high-viscosity oils and oil products

Abstract: The article gives a brief review of the previously developed designs of combined pumps and characteristics of manufactured prototypes. The advantages and disadvantages of these structures are noted. The possibilities of using a combined pump-electric motor for the main oil transportation are considered.
The article suggests ways for further improvement of the combined pumping units. It is advisable to take a direct flow scheme of pumping as the most optimal one. It is also proposed to get rid of the shaft as the central axis, which occupies the space required for the pressure element. This will improve the suction capacity of the pump at the inlet and reduce the cavitation stock. In order to do so, it is proposed to perform rotation from cylindrical part of the rotor. The discharge member may be made in the form of an auger, an axial or a centrifugal wheel. The advantage of the proposed centrifugal pump actuating element is that the impeller integrated inside the «wet» rotor makes it possible to create a fluid supercharger inside the «wet» electric motor. Therefore, stator coils can be arranged on the pipeline instead of pumping stations.
