Abstract: Differential equations of equilibrium of the pipeline, which is under the influence of unspecified external forces, soils, supports, internal pressure and temperature, were obtained. The equations consider the actual distribution of initial curvature in space and are expressed in a curvilinear coordinate system coinciding with the axis of the pipeline. It significantly facilitates the work with the data of in-line diagnostics, which is tied to the same coordinate system (distance s from the pig launching point). In special cases, when initial curvature is absent, or with other simplifying assumptions, the resulting equations become known expressions. They can be efficient during the survey of a complex areas, particularly in such transitions as underground aboveground, swamp soil, through rivers and roads, etc. Differential equations of equilibrium can be solved by numerical methods.

Keywords: trunk pipeline, stress state, mathematical model, longitudinal and transverse bending, longitudinal shear, equilibrium equations.
