Abstract: Despite the fact that environmental and industrial safety has always been of great importance for oil and gas companies recently there has been seen a rise of attention from the community to these issues. Therefore environment and safety become even more important. Legal pipeline regulation in the sphere mentioned above and its evolution represent particular interest. The authors of this article suggest exploring examples of two countries, namely the United Kingdom and France. Both countries have recently experienced reforms in the sphere of pipeline transport regulations which enhanced environmental and safety requirements as well.
