Abstract: The article presents recommendations for the numerical calculations of oil tanks foundation deformations in accordance with the current norms requirements. Calculations of deformations and processing of calculation results were performed with Plaxis software complex and demonstrated using numerical model of the massive vertical steel oil tank with a volume of 30,000 m3. The forecasted values of the oil tank foundation settling and tilt were compared with data obtained from monitoring. The article contains conclusions about the necessity of performing the oil tank foundation calculations in accordance with the described methodology.

Keywords: tank, foundation, stiffness analysis, tank settlement, tilt, engineering-geological surveys.
