Abstract:
Introduction. In the paper investigation of the strain state of pipeline model in defective areas was executed.
Materials and methods. It was used empirical scientific methods: experiment, physical modeling and theoretical methods: comparison and analysis. The experiments were carried out at the laboratory setup for hydraulic testing of the pipe with simultaneous measurement of deformations in the pipe wall. The object of experimental study was a pipe, manufactured according to GOST 3262-75. Steel grade is ST3sp. It is declared as a thinwalled cylindrical shell with artificial defects of metal loss. Geometrical parameters of the pipe: length is 1 m, outside diameter is 114 mm, wall thickness is 4.5 mm. Deformation measurement of pipe wall was carried out using electrical tensometric method. Theoretical studies were based on calculation schemes that are used in the strength and durability assessment of main oil pipelines with defects.
Results. Graphical representation of the dependence of deformations in the defective areas on the inner pressure and the defect depth were obtained.

Keywords: defect, strain state, the model of the pipeline, metal loss, electrical tensometric method.
