Abstract: The article is devoted to the development of a route selection technique and technical solutions for main pipelines laying in permafrost areas based on the application of probability-statistical methods. The method allows to obtain a scientifically grounded design solution, including the design parameters of the pipeline and method of its laying, depending on the engineering and geocryological conditions of the territory. At the same time, the selection of the oil pipeline route is made by comparing all possible routes within the cost engineering and geocryological map, which allows choosing the most optimal design solution that meets the criteria of optimality for reliability and cost of the system under construction and refrain from directive instructions on the selection of the method of pipelines linear part laying. As a result of the comparative evaluation of the route variants, the cost of the pipeline has been reduced by 20 % in relation to existing methods.

Keywords: cryolithozone, probabilistic and statistical methods, value card, reliability of the geotechnical system, optimal pipeline route.
