Abstract: In order to improve the reliability of developed leak detection systems (LDS), the principle of cross-use of independent LDS algorithms is practiced. A feature of this approach is the need to unify the results of the work of various algorithms. The implementation of this principle in practice is complicated by the fact that the LDS algorithms, given in the literature, do not contain exhaustive recommendations for practical application that allow to adapt to a real object. The important practical question of choosing quantitative decision criteria remains open.
Within the framework of the above problem, the hydraulic location method of leak detection has been considered. The method was generalized to a section with several oil pump stations (OPS), and the problem of its adaptation to an arbitrary pipeline was solved. The universal criteria for the reliability of the fact of leakage were developed. A series of computational experiments was carried out, which confirmed the adequacy of the developed criteria. The adapted sonar method was tested on the existing pipeline as part of the decision module. A technique has been developed for determining the sensitivity of a leak detection algorithm depending on the measuring equipment of the process section.

Keywords: leak detection, leak, decision-making behavior, oil pipeline, modes monitoring system, assessing the sufficiency of equipment, hydrospace detection method.
